Jennifer Alder
has always been fascinated by the healing power of common plants. Growing up, her hobby was to learn about natural remedies and to make tinctures, creams, and teas for her family.
In 2004 Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) from the University of Western Sydney. This is a four year degree built upon the nursing school but with a focus on natural modalities including herbal medicine, iridology, homeopathy, nutrition, etc.
Jennifer’s passion continues to be western herbal medicine and many of her treatments involve liquid herbal extracts, formulated individually for every client. Other treatments may involve supplements from reputable practitioner-only brands (e.g. BioCeuticals), tinctures or creams, or tea’s specially mixed for clients to brew at home.
The initial consultation will involve taking a broad medical history – this often sets an important context for the immediate complaint. We will also discuss the issue at hand and prescribe some initial treatment to help relieve the complaint. After the initial consultation some follow up appointments will be necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment, adjust if necessary, and ultimately to remove treatments and maintain health through proper lifestyle and diet. The goal in naturopathic treatment is always to address the root cause of an issue not to simply relieve the symptoms.
Jennifer has experience successfully treating a wide range of complaints including:
- Women’s health
- Hormonal imbalances
- Menopausal symptoms
- Digestive complaints
- Skin conditions
- Dietary advice
- Allergies
- Sleep disorders
- Relief for chronic inflammatory conditions e.g. osteoarthritis
- Acute/chronic immune disorders/complaints
Jennifer is a fully certified member of ANTA (Australian Natural Therapists Association) which requires all practitioners to keep up to date with the latest developments in natural medicine. All liquid herb extracts are sourced from Mediherb and the Australian Herbal Extracts Company.
